Davide Giusti - Alfredo*

Davide Giusti attended Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He is a recipient of important awards, including Belli in Spoleto, Tebaldi in San Marino, Caniglia in Sulmona and Santa Chiara in Naples. Recent engagements include: La Traviata (Alfredo) on tour in Italy; Gianni Schicchi (Rinuccio) at Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and at Teatro Regio in Parma; Il Viaggio a Reims at Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro; I Capuleti e i Montecchi (Tebaldo) at the Reate Festival under Fabio Biondi (also recorded by Glossa); La Bohème (Rodolfo) in Reims; world première of Tutino’s Le Braci at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca and at the Teatro dell’Opera in Florence; Don Giovanni (Don Ottavio) in Treviso and Ferrara; Handel’s Messiah in Oviedo. On the concert side, he appeared in recital in Monte Carlo, in Oulu in Finland, in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in Mannheim, Munich and Nuremberg and more recently he performed Rossini’s Stabat Mater with La Verdi Orchestra in Milan, conducted by Claus Peter Flor and Petite Messe Solennelle in Lima on tour with the Rossini Opera Festival.

Mr Giusti returned to Opéra Royal de Wallonie where in the past seasons he sang: Nicolai’s Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor (Fenton) and Nemorino in L’Elisir d’amore Bruno Campanella conducting.

Future plans include : I Capuleti e I Montecchi (concert version) in Warsaw and at the Musikfesten in Bremen with Europa Galante and Fabio Biondi; Otello (Cassio) at the Sferisterio Opera Festival in Macerata; Madama Butterfly (Pinkerton) in Tel Aviv; La Bohème (Rodolfo) in Massy.

Already well-established as one of the most appreciated baritones of his generation, Mr. Cassi regularly collaborates with conductors such as Roberto Abbado, Paolo Arrivabeni, Bruno Campanella, Asher Fisch, Stefano Montanari, Riccardo Muti, just to name a few, in the most prestigious theaters in Italy and abroad. After his success at the Opéra de Paris singing L’Elisir d’Amore, Mario Cassi has recently sung Papageno in Die Zauberflöte in Liège under the baton of Paolo Arrivabeni and he made his debut as Silvio in Pagliacci at Semperoper in Dresden. Recent engagements include also Lucia di Lammermoor (Lord Enrico Ashton) at Teatro Regio in Parma and on tour in Italy and a lyric concert at Teatro Filarmonico in Verona.

Mario Cassi returns to Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège where in the past seasons he performed Il Matrimonio Segreto, Maria Stuarda, La Bohème, Le Nozze di Figaro, L’Italiana in Algeri and where in the coming months he will star in Don Giovanni (title role) La Favorite (Alphonse IX) and Le Nozze di Figaro (Figaro).

Other plans include: Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro) at the Opéra in Monte Carlo and at the Bath of Caracalla in Rome; Don Pasquale (Malatesta) and Le Nozze di Figaro (Figaro) at the Wiener Staatsoper; Lucia di Lammermoor in Tel Aviv; Così fan tutte (Guglielmo) in Dresden.

Stefano Mazzonis di Pralafera - director

  

Artistic Director at Opéra Royal de Wallonie

Mr. Mazzonis di Pralafera studied law and music in Rome and made his successful debut as director in 1983.

After that he was invited as director/set designer in several Italian theaters as well as many festivals and opera houses in Belgium, France, Germany, Israel and Switzerland.

Previously to his appointment as artistic director at Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, he was superintendent at Teatro Comunale in Bologna and he served as artistic director in many festivals. At the Opéra Royal de Wallonie he directed: Tre Intermezzi, Il Matrimonio Segreto (Cimarosa), Il Barbiere di Siviglia, La Traviata, Das Land des Lächelns, Rita, Il Campanello, Otello, L’Equivoco stravagante (with which he won in 2012 the French Critics Prize), Manon, La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein, La Gazzetta, Rigoletto, L'Elisir d'amore, Lucia di Lammermoor and two world premières: L'Inimico delle Donne (Galuppi) and Guillaume Tell (Grétry).
